PRESS RELEASE and Request for
Public Service Announcements.
On Sunday, February 13, 2005 the
Redmond Rod and Gun Club will host the "Central Oregon Blue Star Shoot"
The purpose of the trapshooting
competition is to raise funds and collect referral services for the families
of U.S. Armed Forces families in Central Oregon. The RR&GC will provide a
free "in the ground" barbequed pork lunch. Donations for the meal will be
accepted and combined with the proceeds from the trap shoot. ALL proceeds
will be donated to Caring for Troops. Caring for Troops are the Co-sponsors
of the event. Their contact person is Bob Jeffrey.
The entrance to the Club, two
miles east of Redmond, Oregon will be lined with (40) forty American flags
donated for display by the City of Redmond.
The National Championship ROTC
Drill Team of Crook County will do the "Presentation of Colors" and perform
their award winning routine.
The National Anthem will be
performed by local guide and outfitter, Russ Seaton of Fly and Field
Outfitters, Bend, Oregon.
U.S. Senator Gordon Smith,
Congressman Greg Walden and the County Commissioners of Deschutes and Crook
Counties have been invited to attend.
Radio station "99.7 The Mountain"
will broadcast live from the site.
