FEATURING
BILL KEALE & THE HOKULEA DANCERS
Bend, Oregon- The Community Arts Foundation of Central Oregon (CAF)
proudly announces a Veterans Day celebration concert that will honor
Central Oregon’s Veterans in a very special way. Much beloved Hawaiian
singer/songwriter Bill Keale and the magnificent Polynesian dancers known
as “Hokulea” (Star of Gladness) will perform patriotic favorites as well
as uniquely moving Hawaiian songs in this rare concert that will be held
on Friday November 11, 2005 at First Presbyterian Church of Bend,
beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for students and
children. Tickets can be purchased at Boomtown,
Ranch Records, and First Presbyterian Church, or online at www.caf.bendfp.org or by calling 382-4450 between 9am and 1pm.
A few words about Bill Keale: He was born and raised in Oahu near the
shores of Kailua Bay. His grandfather dedicated his life to the music and
spirit of his island home on Niihau. Bill’s uncle, Moe Keale, one of
Hawaii’s most beloved entertainers, is an icon in his own right. Bill’s
cousin was Israel Kamakawiwo’ole whose music lives on in our hearts. It
was from this heritage that Bill discovered his own healing gift. His
music will touch your heart. It is not often that you stumble upon
something that resonates all the way to your soul; that transports you to
a place of joy and innocence. Bill Keale… Pure music. All heart.
A portion of all proceeds will go to benefit the following charitable
organizations: Habitat for Humanity, Bethlehem Inn and Interfaith
Volunteer Caregivers Of Central Oregon (IVC). For more information on
these charities, please call First Presbyterian Church at 382-4401.
Private and corporate sponsorship opportunities for this very important
