Caring For Troops was extended an invitation to the Pentagon by our Department of Defense and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.  CFT was one of 77 troop support groups from across the U.S. to be invited, one person per group.  Rod Richter, long time board member, represented CFT.  Details of Invitation

We still have many pictures that are being processed that will be posted soon.  Also, details of the trip will be posted here.  Briefly, however, Department of Defense transported us from the hotel to the White House at 6:30 am, Friday morning.  While in transit, we were informed that our group would be the first to view the 2005 Christmas decorations.  We were escorted by military personnel at all times.  Our escorts were well versed in the history and facts surrounding the the rooms, art work and furniture we visited.  No cameras were allowed.

Below are pictures as we prepare to leave the hotel.

From the White House, we were taken to the Pentagon.  We were served breakfast and allowed a short time to meet some of our fellow guests.  Pictures were allowed only in the media room and the auditorium.  Details to follow.
