Dear Sponsor:

The Veterans of Foreign Wars was founded 105 years ago to help Veterans, and we today at the National, State, and Local level still believe in this.  Our National Charter, given to us by The Congress of The United States says that we will “assist worthy comrades; … and to assist their widows and orphans”.  We are not only serving our veterans on active duty and their families, but are also serving the communities in which they live.

Post 4108 of Redmond is having a fundraiser dance on April 30th.  The monies, which we will raise, will go toward helping veterans of all types, we have approximately 230 troops overseas from Central Oregon  at this time.  The Veterans Home in The Dalles has 106 veterans in it, 24 in the Alzheimer’s ward, and thirteen veterans that are woman.

The V.F.W. post here in Redmond has for 50+ years been supporting it’s veterans and their families as well as the community in which we take pride in living.  Post 4108 of Redmond was recognized by the National V.F.W. for being the best in the state of Oregon last year in Community Service, and by the Bend National Guard for the support that we gave them last year while they were deployed.  We are very proud to continue to serve our country in this way.

Each Year our Post sends thousands of dollars to help our veterans and we are asking you as a proud member of this community to help us to help more veterans and their families and the community in which we live.

The fundraiser is a Dance , we need door prizes to give out each hour.  Each sponsor will be mentioned many times during the evening.  We will also be advertising on radio and TV.  Sponsors will be mentioned in these advertisements.  The tickets will be $5.00 each and can be used as a tax-deductible expense.

We are looking for donations for door Prizes and one or more Big Prizes for Grand Prizes that the public can win regardless of whether they are there or not.  This should help boost ticket sales.

If you have any questions please contact me at 548-6990 in the evenings or leave a message during the day.

Remember we are supporting the veterans not Wars they fought in or are now fighting in.  We want to make things better for those who have and those who are now serving our Country.

Sincerely,

Dennis G. Guthrie
