Caring For Troops has been invited to the Pentagon in Washington DC to take part in an America Supports You troop support conference . Long time Caring for Troops board member, Rod Richter, will be one of the seventy-seven currently confirmed non-profit troop support organization representatives from 26 states who will be meeting with Department of Defense officials on troop support.

A last minute invitation has been extended to visit the White House as follows: The White House is extending a special invitation for you to be one of the first groups to view their Holiday decorations. You will travel together to the White House via DoD-provided transportation. After the tour, we will proceed to the Pentagon for the previously scheduled activities.

To "Our Troops", Families, CFT Board Members and Central Oregon Supporters:

I am honored to be making this trip to Washington on your behalf. This opportunity has been made solely for the purpose of further providing quality support to "Our Troops", their families and to bring awareness to our mission.

We have meetings scheduled with many Department of Defense officials, including a forty five minute meeting with Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld and a one hour Q&A with Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Allison Barber.

I will carry many of your cards and letters with me, as well as, our Caring For Troops American Flag (Details).

During all these events, however, my thoughts will be with those of you serving around the world in American uniform, as well as, allies and supporters of our military efforts and personnel.
